Writer/Director

Jose was nominated for a Southeastern EMMY for his 2015 debut as a national TV writer/director: Edgar Allan Poe’s Mystery Theatre.  He also directs dozens of commercial spots for a growing list of world-class brands like Cartoon Network, CNN International, Coca-Cola, Dunkin Donuts, The Home Depot, Kraft Foods, McCormick Spices, and Showtime. More recently, Jose directed a string of documentary-style corporate PR videos for Delta Air Lines, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Suntrust, and Georgia Tech.  Whether scripted or unscripted, an increasing number of productions are asking Jose to guide them to success.

Cinematographer

Of course, Jose is often the cameraman for the commercials he directs. But many accomplished producers and directors choose Jose to lens their commercials, promos, TV shows, and indie films as well. Jose has DP’ed for a growing list of production partners like Artifact Design, Encyclomedia, Hatch Films, HotHouse, Ignite, Indigo Studios, Magick Lantern, Melt, Moonshine Productions, Primal Screen, School of Humans, and Spoke Creative.  His visual FX skills and documentary experience are a rare combination.

VFX Supervisor

Jose began his career as a self-taught digital animator. After animating many UPS training videos and the successful Atlanta Olympic bid at Creative Video, he won an EMMY on his first full-time TV assignment, Salsa, PBS’s 1998 Spanish-language kids show. He helped write the original Computer Animation BFA curriculum for the Art Institutes International, where he taught for many years.  His production company, DoubleRaven, which Jose founded in 2004, originally focused on animation and VFX. He designed motion graphics for Turner Studios in 2012, and the 2013 show open for Picture Window’s Mega-Dens series on DiY Network.  Jose continues to serve as VFX supervisor on a variety of upcoming TV productions, leading a talented team of motion graphics artists.
